Pileated Woodpecker spiritual meaning ✨ for witnessing it in waking life, in visions, or in dreams.
After a very close encounter and mystical connection with this woodpecker I was eager to explore its spiritual messages.
The first thing I noticed was its dedication to its task of digging into this dead tree for food. I could see this dedication was fueled by a knowing that there would be more food the deeper it went. Each piece of food it found was confirmation and spurred on its dedication to go deeper still.
As I observed this I saw it like a mirror to what I had been doing with my spiritual work. Going deeper and deeper within me, excavating layers of old beliefs and programs and discovering innate gifts and abilities. I had found sustenance in both of these, with each old belief I released and ability I honed I reclaimed energy, and felt a new level of peace and excitement for life.
As I got closer to take this photo I recognized its boldness. It didn’t even flinch when I was mere feet away, and remained completely dedicated to its task. Its red mohawk and striking face remind us to embrace our uniqueness and do our own thing no matter who else is watching. It was a call for me to remember my punk rock roots, and the freedom we feel when we let go of concerns over what others think.
Once I returned home I looked up this bird as I felt there was still something more for me here. There it was, rhythm. Walking to the beat of our own drum, what I interpret as surrendering to our flow. Doing what is best for us at all times regardless of past programming or opinions of others. Again, I felt that freedom ~ this time from trusting in ourselves and our life path.
Pileated Woodpecker reminds us to remain dedicated to our current project, with perseverance and a knowing that there is sustenance within. It reminds us to be the bold, confident, and courageous being that we truly are as it is only beliefs that say otherwise. It also reminds us to follow our own rhythm, our own path, as when we are in our flow we will always be doing what is best for us.
Thank you Pileated Woodpecker for this wisdom and this clarity 🖤🤍❤️
